    New Work by Savannah Wyatt

Savannah Wyatt sees the world through a commendable and extensive collection of cat eye glasses à la Screaming Mimis. Though I am certain every glance in her direction is deserving of a second, if something rouses her attention enough to raise the shades, take note: among Savannah’s extensive list of talents, this young designer boasts the uncanny ability to forecast what you’re looking for before you have even begun to search.

As a designer, Savannah is purely and unapologetically original. She carries the torch of her occupation as she continues to conceive and invent in an era where design has often become regrettably synonymous with disclaimers such as referenced, borrowed, or inspired by.

Though rather petite and always wearing black, Savannah offsets a small frame and soft spoken persona with bold accessories and even braver lip colors, thus making herself indisputably detectable among any caliber of crowd. Look for Savannah with large notebooks and bags of pens in any small corner of NYC, both design and coffee in constant flow. My favorite image of Savannah is her personal cure for tough times, when she takes herself out for “a burger and a glass of champagne”.

Before sharing Savannah’s most recent collection and corresponding video release, I feel it is necessary to preface this debut with a glimpse at her previous material and its unabashed ability to permeate right into the heart of the fashion industry. No doubt, a major triumph for a young designer, yet a feat whose glamour is lost for lack of giving credit where credit is deserved.

The following is a video created by Savannah for her first fashion line, Black as Black:

After seeing Savannah’s video and collection, the video below was consequently produced sans any acknowledgement of Savannah’s work, Rihanna-Rockstar 101:

A year later and without the slightest break in stride, Savannah presents her entirely new collection and corresponding video accompaniment. Following her first collection, Savannah continued creating with increasing momentum, and upon this debut, reveals the products of her resilience to have blossomed with only the sweetest of fruits.

Note to Savannah’s admirers and would be imitators: “Thank You” is the most sincere, direct, and proper form of flattery.
